C-fast Logo

Cfast® is a very versatile system that offers a variety of brace options. The braces can be fixed to the front surfaces of your teeth using clear brackets and tooth coloured wires, or they can be fixed to the lingual or back surface of your teeth. In certain cases, Cfast® also gives you the option of wearing clear plastic aligners that are fully removable making them an ideal choice for people who would prefer not to wear a fixed brace.

Cfast® is a great system for tackling minor issues with the front teeth or in adult patients who are facing an orthodontic relapse. Cfast® are a cosmetic solution designed to treat the six upper and six lower front teeth that are visible when you smile.

The Benefits:

  • Versatile system – You can select from braces fixed to the front of your teeth, lingual braces that are fixed to the back of your teeth, or removable aligners
  • Discreet – Tooth coloured wires and clear brackets mean C-fast are barely noticeable
  • Speedy treatment – You will have straight front teeth in less than six months! High technology arch wires are clinically proven to move teeth quickly and comfortably
  • Affordable – Short treatment time dramatically cuts the cost
  • Comfortable – Cfast® uses special nickel-titanium wires to apply lighter forces than traditional fixed orthodontics
  • Minimally invasive – Focuses on the “Social 6” teeth that are visible when you smile
  • Overcrowding – Cfast® can be used to straighten teeth that are crowded or overlapping
  • Gaps – Cfast® can close gaps between teeth quickly

The Disadvantages:

  • Not suitable for very complex treatment
  • Doesn’t focus on bite corrections

  • Front teeth only

What are Cfast® cosmetic braces?

CFast Image

Cfast® cosmetic braces are cosmetically oriented braces that are designed to work extremely quickly. The system is very versatile as patients have a choice of three different braces. The braces can be fixed in position to the lingual or back surfaces of the teeth, or they can be fixed to the labial or front surfaces of the teeth using clear plastic brackets and tooth coloured wires. Alternatively patients can choose to wear clear plastic aligners that are fully removable, an ideal choice for those who cannot wear a fixed appliance. All three systems are designed to work on the teeth visible when smiling, and are aimed at giving good aesthetic results rather than providing solutions to more major orthodontic issues.

What Orthodontic Problems can be treated with Cfast® cosmetic braces?

Cfast® cosmetic braces are designed to correct issues associated with the six upper front teeth and six lower front teeth. This system can correct minor cases of misalignment. It is useful for correcting crowded teeth, teeth that have gaps in between them and gummy smiles where too much gum is exposed when smiling or talking. It is not suitable for correcting problems with the way the teeth meet together, or any major bite problems.

What is the Step-by Step Process for Having Cfast® cosmetic braces?

The step-by-step procedure for having Cfast® cosmetic braces is as follows:

  1. Make an appointment to visit the Harley Street Orthodontic Centre to find out if this treatment is suitable for you. Your dentist will need to assess your bite problems, and will discuss the most suitable type of brace for your needs.
  2. If you decide to go ahead then your dentist will need to take photos, x-rays and impressions of your teeth for the braces to be constructed.
  3. The next appointment will be to fit your braces, and this appointment can vary according to the type of brace you have chosen. If you have chosen a fixed brace then it will need to be bonded onto either the back or front surfaces of your teeth, whereas if you have chosen a clear removable brace then you'll be provided with your clear trays to wear all the time except when you are eating or drinking something.
  4. You'll need to visit your dentist approximately every 4 to 6 weeks to make sure treatment is progressing as planned, and until it is completed.
  5. Afterwards you will need to wear a retainer at regular intervals to prevent your teeth from returning to their former positions.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will Cfast® cosmetic braces Hurt?

You may feel some discomfort when you first begin to wear your braces and this is perfectly normal and occurs with all orthodontic systems. The reason for this is that your teeth and tooth roots are being forced into new positions. You should be able to control any discomfort with over-the-counter painkillers, and it should be perfectly bearable as your teeth will not be moving very far.

How long do Cfast® cosmetic braces Take to Work?

This orthodontic system can take anything from six weeks to six months to complete depending on the tooth movement required.

What about Eating, Drinking and Cleaning My Teeth during Treatment?

If you are wearing fixed braces and then you'll need to take extra care to clean around the brackets thoroughly each day, and you might need to modify your diet to avoid especially hard or chewy foods that could become stuck around or which could damage your brace. If you have chosen to wear clear trays then all you need to do is remove them when eating or drinking something and to be sure to brush your teeth before replacing them.
